Students have been practicing introducing themselves and learning about others in a variety of ways: speaking, listening, reading and writing. To stretch our writing skills, we are practising creating simple sentences about ourselves using Pic Collage.
We’ve talked about how we need to revise our work to make sure we can be easily understood. We need to:
- include a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence
- include punctuation at the end of a sentence
- use the word walls and model sentences in our classroom to check the spelling of familiar words
We are also adding images to our writing that will help others understand our message. When we read about others, we use these visual cues to help us make sense of the words.
I’m very proud of how hard students are working to create and revise their work. Their submissions have been very creative and their use of images to ensure their message is clear has been excellent.
